At Maplebrook Care Home, our activities program is an integral part of each resident’s care plan, tailored to recognise their unique preferences and capabilities. From lively group sessions encompassing singing, bingo, baking, games, and crafts to personalised one-to-one engagements, we ensure active participation in the joy of communal activities.
Under the guidance of our dynamic Activities Lead, Georgia, we are dedicated to creating an engaging environment that supports the mental and physical well-being of our residents.
Special occasions and holidays are celebrated with flair at Maplebrook. Themed parties and festive decorations bring an extra touch of joy to create lasting memories. We also embrace National Days, infusing our daily routines with a spirit of festivity and diversity.
At the heart of our person-centred care approach is the “Personal Day – Hair & Pamper 1-2-1 Session.” Residents indulge in a day of self-care, enjoying one-on-one sessions that foster a sense of well-being and relaxation.
Our Sensory Room offers a haven for the senses with therapeutic sessions that go beyond the ordinary. It’s a space where residents unwind, reflect, and reconnect with the simple pleasures of touch, sound, and sight.
As day turns to night, our Sensory room transforms into a cosy cinema for Movie Nights. Residents enjoy a carefully curated selection of films, creating shared experiences that transcend the screen, adding to the sense of community.
Games afternoon is a weekly highlight, where residents eagerly come together for classic favourites like bingo and Connect 4. It’s a time not only to challenge the mind but also to share laughter and build lasting connections.
The sweet aroma of freshly baked delights fills the air during our baking extravaganza. Residents gather for collaborative baking sessions, where teamwork and creativity are as important as the end product.
Creative expressions find a home in our arts and crafts sessions, where residents unleash their artistic flair, crafting beautiful pieces that reflect their unique perspectives.
Blooms and blossoms take centre stage in our flower arranging sessions, bringing a burst of nature’s beauty into our home.
Last year, our care home welcomed an adorable visitor—a one-month-old bichon puppy, thanks to our considerate housekeeper. This delightful furry friend brought the joy of dog therapy, creating heartwarming moments and smiles that lingered long after.
Connecting with the local community, our residents embark on trips into town for a leisurely coffee—a chance to savour the simple pleasures of life, surrounded by the warmth of friendly faces.
Kym Hubbard, Peripatetic Manager, said: “We are immensely proud of our activities programme at Maplebrook Care Home. We tailor our activities to ensure we are catering to our residents and creating stimulating activity that our residents respond positively to.”
