At Maplebrook, our activities team is dedicated to creating fun and engaging experiences that bring joy while offering mental, physical, and emotional benefits to our residents—and Christmas is no exception! This December, we’ve put together a thoughtfully curated calendar filled with festive events and activities to ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our daily activities range from relaxed chats over a hot drink to lively Christmas parties, with everything tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents. From self-care to mental stimulation and physical engagement, we’ve covered all the bases to make this holiday season extra special.
One of our favourite traditions at Maplebrook is giving our beloved activities a festive twist. A highlight this year is our World Food Day, where our talented chef has planned a royal feast for residents and staff to enjoy together. It’s a delicious way to celebrate the season and share some holiday cheer.
The Christmas spirit is truly in the air as we indulge in festive crafts, music, and games, including Christmas-themed bingo, skittles, and board games. Residents have also been enjoying word searches and quizzes designed to bring out their competitive side while keeping the atmosphere lighthearted and fun.
This year, we’re embracing the coziness of the season with a Festive PJ Day! Both staff and residents are encouraged to don their most festive sleepwear for the day, with a small donation to join in the fun. The sillier and more festive, the better!
Our cinema room has been the perfect spot for watching Christmas classics. There’s nothing quite like getting comfy with a warm blanket and a holiday favourite on the big screen. More movie nights are on the way, and we can’t wait!
For those who love a taste of the finer things, we’ve planned a Cheese and Wine Afternoon, as well as a delightful Hot Chocolate and Mince Pies Social, giving everyone a chance to come together, relax, and savour the festive flavours of the season.
No Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Maplebrook this year! His visit is sure to spread plenty of joy and holiday magic throughout the home.
We’re also looking forward to our highly anticipated Christmas Party, where everyone will be dancing the night away to live music from singer Paulo Pinto. It’s the perfect way to cap off an incredible month of celebrations.
