Meet our Chef, Mark

Mark, Head Chef

Mark has recently joined Maplebrook as our new Head Chef. With 16 years of experience, Mark brings a wealth of experience with him. He has worked in hotels and restaurants and as a chef at the Commonwealth Games.

Mark’s qualifications include Levels 1 & 2 in Professional Cookery and Levels 1 & 2 in Silver Service, ensuring the residents at Maplebrook receive the very best of care from our kitchen team.

Well-balanced meals and nutritional intake significantly affect our residents’ overall wellbeing. With vast experience in healthcare, the kitchen team offers dishes that maximise nutrition and cultural variety and tailor meals depending on an individual’s wants and needs. Mark and his team love to bake and prepare all food from scratch using fresh ingredients, with some being sourced from our very own garden.

Kym, Peripatetic Manager, says, “Led by Mark, our fantastic kitchen team work very hard, ensuring our residents receive the best possible standard of care. Their knowledge of each resident is impressive, ensuring they cater to their individual needs and tastes.”

Outside of his role as Head Chef, Mark enjoys diving and studying Horology (the study of clocks). He finds his position at Maplebrook provides a good work/life balance, with the hours suiting family life and him enjoying spending time with his two young children.
