Maplebrook’s Maintenance Supervisor, Owen, is part of the full-time, Maintenance Team based in the home, on hand to ensure residents have all amenities available to them at all times.
Having worked in the care sector in and around Wolverhampton for several years, Owen knows just how important it is that if maintenance need pops up, it is resolved quickly and efficiently. As Owen says, “no job is too big, no job is too small.”
The Home Manager said, “Maplebrook is a large home caring for over 80 people when full, and it is essential that everything is in perfect working order for them at all times, so whether it’s changing a light bulb or replacing the batteries in the TV remote, scheduling the redecorating to ensure our high standards are maintained, or diarised routine checks such as PAT testing to ensure our safety standards, maintaining the grounds or any other maintenance need that pops up, our on-site maintenance team will be on hand to fix it.”
Owen says, “I have worked in the Care sector for five years and really enjoy being in this environment that cares for other people, I always get chance to get to know the residents too. I have to remember this is their home, therefore I work respectfully and neatly in a way that gets my job done whilst maintaining the calm of the home and ensuring the needs of the service-users come first.”
Outside of work Owen enjoys going to the gym to look after his own physical and mental well-being. Football is also a hobby of Owen, keeping him active on days off.
