We are proud to announce our five star food rating!

Mark, Head Chef

We recently had an inspection by Environmental Health, which was highly successful. Maplebrook Care Home has been awarded the highest Food Hygiene Rating of 5 stars.

From a score of zero to five, food handling businesses are given ratings following an inspection to assess how well they comply with food safety laws. Our kitchen was inspected in terms of cleanliness, with our processes also being checked to ensure we always deliver the required standards.

The kitchen team at Maplebrook work extremely hard to provide residents with the very best quality food with a varied menu. They use fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce to offer residents meals that consider their tastes and specific dietary requirements.

Kym Hubbard, Peripatetic Manager, said, “We are so proud of our kitchen team’s hard work and dedication. To receive a 5-star rating is a great achievement and recognition of their efforts.”

The environmental health assessor was most impressed with Chef Mark’s knowledge regarding each resident. The team has created a mood board featuring all the residents, giving a breakdown of all their dietary requirements.

Mark’s knowledge shone through, with the assessor awarding the 5-star rating within half an hour of the visit. Mark said, “Our team have worked hard to get to know all our residents individually and implement procedures to help with the smooth running of the kitchen. We are all delighted with the outcome of the Environmental Health inspection”.

Key details such as allergies, phobias and weight loss plans are incorporated to ensure the best possible care, with processes in place to prevent cross-contamination. A separate sterilised area and purple boards and utensils are used to ensure they are only used in line with certain foods.

At Maplebrook, we endeavor to provide our residents with the highest standard of care. Our kitchen team strives to be the best they can be, offering good quality meals to our residents.
